The streets of Bingara, were a bright shade of orange yesterday, in celebration of the town’s annual Orange Festival.
“This is a very important festival for Bingara because it’s our celebration every year of who we are and what makes us different as a community and I think the main feature is the Oranges,” according to festival MC Rick Hutton.
Street markets, parades and orange picking were all part of this year’s festivities, with local students playing a vital role in making the day possible.
“It’s always been a tradition that the kids look after the oranges make sure that no-one picks them- They become the orange police for 12 months,”he said.
