NSW government plan launched to tackle future costs of natural disasters

A plan has been launched to tackle the future costs of natural disasters in New South Wales – with projections indicating potential expenses could total $1.6 billion annually for four Northern Rivers LGAs by 2060.

It comes just one day after an audit found the state government failed to adequately plan for housing needs following the region’s 2022 floods.
