A 65-year-old woman will undergo surgery, after she was allegedly stabbed by her neighbour at Lake Macquarie overnight.
Police say she, and a 64-year-old man who lives in the same block of units at Belmont, had been involved in an ongoing dispute.
It’s alleged after a short discussion last night, the man went into the woman’s unit and stabbed her with a knife.
She suffered serious lacerations to her face and hands.
The man was arrested and later charged with attempted murder.
He’s due to face Newcastle Local Court today, while the woman was taken to John Hunter Hospital.
