HORROR CLYBUCCA STRETCH TO GET UPGRADE

One of the most dangerous sections of the Pacific Highway will undergo a safety upgrade.

The Roads and Traffic Authority is to spend almost $4-million on works at Clybucca, north of Kempsey, including installing wire rope barriers and widening the road shoulders.

The section was the scene of Australia’s worst road accident in 1989, when two buses collided, killing 35 people.

The work is due to be completed by next June.
