TOY RUN ROARS INTO NEWCASTLE

The Christmas spirit roared into Newcastle today, in the form of thousands of motorbike riders – taking part in the annual Bikers for Kids Toy Run.

More than 3,500 of them dressed in their festive finest and took off from Stockton this morning, arriving at Newcastle Foreshore with some special cargo.

The ride collects donations and gifts for the Salvation Army, which are then passed on to disadvantaged kids across the Hunter.

It’s estimated around $35,000 worth of toys and $45,000 was raised today, helping around a thousand families.
