A man believed to be aged in his late 50s has drowned while surfing at North Valla Beach, near Nambucca Heads on the mid north coast.
He was discovered floating face down by two other surfers just before midday.
They tried for about half an hour to revive him, before ambulance officers arrived.
Witnesses say the man had been enjoying the conditions.

As a surfer I must say that “passing” while having a really fun session seems like the best way to go. Personally, I prefer cardiac arrest generated by the stoke of launching in the air after a long barrel, sometime in the distant future, and preferably off the coast of New Zealand.
