LAKE MACQUARIE YOUTH GAMES GETS A BOOST
Lake Macquarie’s International Children’s Games are set to go ahead, following a funding announcement by the state government.
Charlestown MP Andrew Cornwall says the games will bring a host of benefits to the region.
“The International Children’s Games offer the perfect opportunity to showcase NSW’s beautiful Lake Macquarie region to international and interstate visitors to the event. It is expected that the Games will deliver more than $5-million to the local economy.
Lake Macquarie will be the first city in the Southern Hemisphere to host the youth games, with more than 40 countries represented at each of the meets.
About 2,000 teens between the ages of 12-15 are expected to take part.
