Ballina Shire council has voted to repair the leaking pipeline which supplies water to residents in Pimlico and Uralba.
The decision coming in favour of an alternative option to discontinue the line, and connect affected residents to water tanks.
Mayor David Wright says while the cost of repair isn’t certain, he expects it to be much less than the initial figure of $1-million.
The bill will be shared between council and residents.
