WATER EMBARGOES IN NORTHERN NSW LIFTED
There’s good news for irrigators in the Barwon Darling Basin, Namoi, Gwydir and Border river areas with embargoes on supplementary water flows officially lifted
Many primary producers in Northern New South Wales have been struggling for months without water allocations.
The most recent embargo was put in place over the Easter Long Weekend, allowing rain water to flow directly to Menindee Lakes, which supplies Broken Hill’s water.
The announcement follows a meeting that took place in Moree two weeks ago, between irrigators and Water Minister Niall Blair.
