A handful of North Coast towns have been revealed as hotspots for melanoma.
Ballina, Lismore, Richmond Valley, Clarence Valley and Byron LGA’s are among the state’s highest for cases.
Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie-Hastings and the Tweed also made the top 10 most prevalent list.
The data – released by the state’s Cancer Institute – comes as a timely reminder for communities to take their sun safety seriously, this summer.
