Gwydir Shire Council is considering a special rate variation for the next financial year.
In an effort to increase income, it’ll make an application to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal for an increase of 32 per cent over the next two years, on top of the annual rate peg of 2.4 per cent.
A number of criteria will be used to assess the application, including evidence of community consultation.
