Tamworth and Gunnedah have been selected in the top thirty regional towns to go into the New South Wales Tourism Awards for 20-22.
Councillor Judy Coates says Tamworth is a prime location with a buzzing main street offering great food and wine, where everyone is welcome.
Other towns in the mix include Bathurst, Coffs Harbour, Mudgee and Newcastle.
The public will have the chance to vote online with the winners to be announced at a state government conference in May.
