Alarming drowning figures has prompted Tamworth Regional Council to extend its Learn-to-Swim lessons at all six council pools.
The 2015 National Drowning Report, prepared by Royal Life Saving, found the highest number of deaths still occur in inland waterways and during the summer months.
Intensive five day swimming courses will be held from January 4.
Enrollments are also open for weekly Learn-to-Swim courses, starting February 1.
