A security guard has disturbed an armed intruder during an attempted robbery at a tavern on the Gold Coast this morning.
Shortly after 3.15am, a male security guard noticed a door had been damaged at the premises on Masthead Way in Hope Island. He went inside where he found a man armed with a firearm.
The man threatened the security guard and forced him outside, before fleeing empty handed.
He’s described as approximately 180cm tall, wearing a balaclava, dark coloured jacket, dark full length pants and dark gloves.
