DARCY BRINGS UP 1000KM IN CHARITY RIDE FOR CHILDHOOD CANCER

Taree’s Darcy Elbourne today completed his one-thousandth kilometre in the Great Cycle Challenge.

He’s already raised $1000 for childhood cancer research programs.

It’s the third time Mr Elbourne has entered the challenge – using his own battle with cancer as motivation.

“Kids don’t really know what they’re into and if we can do something to help eradicate or make their life much better so kids can live their life that’s what I’m out to do,” he said.

Participants have ridden over 2 million kilometres and raised more than $6 million since the challenge began in 2013.
