EX-HMAS SCUTTLING HEARING CONTINUES IN SYDNEY

Barristers expect the former HMAS Adelaide hearing to continue in the Administrative Appeals Tribunal next week.

Today the tribunal heard from five experts, who discussed the possibility that traces of anti-fouling paint, used to prevent barnacles, remain on the frigate.

A red substance, which the No Ship Action group believes is lead primer, is currently being tested in a Sydney laboratory.

The test results will be released tomorrow.

But members of the Artificial Reef Project say they’re confident the tribunal will class the ship as “clean” and safe for scuttling.
