Two years ago today a sunset vigil was held for Belgian backpacker Theo Hayez following his disappearance at Byron Bay.
Hundreds gathered side by side in fading light to show support for the family who hadn’t given up hope, despite the search being called off.
Locals stood in solidarity – many of who are are still determined to find answers.
A coronial inquest into the disappearance of Theo is set to be held in November.
