ESSENTIAL ENERGY WORKERS BREATHE SIGH OF RELIEF
Essential Energy workers are breathing a sigh of relief with the Fair Work Commission ruling the company cannot use forced redundancies as a measure to slash jobs.
Last month hundreds of workers, including 40 in the North West, were told they no longer had jobs.
The Fair Work Commission says using forced redundancies would be a breach of existing workplace agreements.
Unions say the company must now look at alternatives ways to cut costs.
