ULTRA-LIGHT AIRCRAFT CRASHES WEST OF BYRON BAY
An ultra-light aircraft crashed west of Byron Bay early this morning.
A witness alerted police at about 8am when he saw the aircraft drop out of sight near Tyagarah.
The crash site was found about 200m off the Pacific Highway shortly after.
The male pilot is reported to be conscious but suffering suspected fractures.
