Hunter Water today started talks with the state government on a solution to drought-proof the region, following the axing of the Tillegra Dam.
Managing Director, Kevin Young, says customers will choose the best solution through a series of community meetings and questionnaires.
He also says Hunter Water is financially sound, despite taking a hit from the dam project.
