Police are on the hunt for a man who assaulted a 39-year-old woman in West Tamworth early this morning.
The woman was walking along Veness Street just after 3 o’clock when a man approached her and demanded her mobile phone and cigarettes, before fleeing.
The woman sustained injuries to her face in the attack.
Police conducted forensic investigations today and are appealing for assitance from any witnesses.
