CENTRAL COAST CYCLIST DIES AFTER BEING HIT BY A CAR

A cyclist has died after being hit by a car on the Central Coast.

The rider was struck by a Hyundai on Wilfred Barrett Drive at Magenta around 1.30pm on Sunday.

The 72-year-old man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, where he later died.

A 66-year-old woman driving the Hyundai wasn’t injured and has undergone mandatory testing.

Police are investigating the incident and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
