Local lad Ben Schaefer (Shay-Fer) is at the top of his game in Rugby Union, and has his sights firmly set on representing Australia.
The Prop forward was handpicked from eight other hopefuls at a City Country game last month, to be part of the New South Wales Under 15 Junior Waratah’s side.
A big achievement after a major setback last year.
“Last year playing for country I tore a ligament in my knee and had to get surgery on it, and I had to work out to get it better so I could play again.”
He will meet his team mates this weekend at the first squad training session in Sydney.
