TEACHING ROLES IN DROUGHT-AFFECTED SCHOOLS WON’T BE CUT

As the drought continues, some families are being left with no choice other than to sell the farm and move elsewhere.

This means a drop in enrollments for small schools in rural areas, and until now, a drop in teaching roles.

But the New South Wales government has today guaranteed teachers from 220 public schools in remote areas that they will still have a job next year.

It has said without this intervention, staffing entitlements across the state would have dropped by about 100.
