RFS CLOSE TO CONTAINING COOMBA PARK FIRE
The Rural Fire Service says it’s close to containing a bushfire at Coomba Park, south-west of Forster.
The blaze broke out on Wednesday afternoon and has torn through more than 1900 hectares.
Around 70 firefighters, assisted by water-bombing helicopters, have been strengthening containment lines with back burning in the Wallingat National Park.
The RFS is warning motorists that smoke may still be visible from the Pacific Highway at Coolongolook.
