Two teens have been arrested, while two others are on the run, after a stolen car collided with a police vehicle in Mayfield overnight.

Police were driving along Turton Road around 2am this morning, when they saw a Toyota Camry which had been reported stolen earlier.

It’s alleged a short time later, the stolen car collided head-on with a second police car on Braye Street.

Two teens, a 15-year-old and a 12-year-old were both taken to Waratah Police Station, while two other youths were last seen running from the scene.

Two officers sustained minor whiplash injuries, while a Senior Constable was taken to hospital for a head injury.
