A 21-year-old woman is lucky to be alive, after being caught in a rip at White’s Beach yesterday afternoon.
The woman was thankfully pulled from the water, south of Byron Bay, before being treated at the scene.
She suffered multiple abrasions caused by rocks and shortness of breath.
The crew from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter stabilised her at the scene before flying her to Lismore Base Hospital.
She’s recovering in hospital.
