Police are searching for the driver of a stolen Toyota Landcruiser involved in a police chase late Thursday night on the Pacific Highway at Corindi Beach.
The driver allegedly failed to stop after exceeding the speed limit after which police deployed road spikes.
The vehicle then collided with a parked van and three occupants fled on foot.
And 18-year-old was arrested and refused bail. He has been charged with numerous offences including assaulting a police officer.
The driver and second passenger haven’t been located.
Police say inquiries are continuing and the vehicle will undergo forensic examination.
