SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR NORTHERN NSW

The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe weather warning for parts of Mid North Coast, Hunter, North West Slopes and Plains and Northern Tablelands.

Thunderstorms are likely to produce heavy rain, which could lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next few hours.

Locations which could be affected include Coffs Harbour, Armidale, Tamworth, Gunnedah, and Narrabri.

The State Emergency Service is urging people to keep clear of creeks and storm drains, stay indoors where possible, and to never drive through floodwater.

For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES on 132 500.
