PET COCKATOO GETS STUCK IN A TREE IN SINGLETON

How’s this for a ‘squak-ward’ call for help… Fire crews in Singleton were called in today after a pesky pet cockatoo escaped and flew into a tree.

The bold bird named Billy made a break from his home on Waterhouse Avenue just after 1:30pm, before taking roost in a nearby bush.

Singleton Fire and Rescue crews used a ladder and an extension pole to coax the cheeky cockatoo down.

We’re happy to report the bashful bird is back with his owner, the only pine he’s allowed near now is the Christmas Tree.
