Federal Member for Page Kevin Hogan is calling for Drill Hall to remain on the market for another month.
He says it will allow the Casino RSL sub-branch more time to raise the funds needed to purchase the historic building.
Since the site was put up for sale in November last year, the body has been working towards claiming it.
It plans to convert the 100-year-old military building into a war memorial.
