Multiple rescues carried out as strong swell batters the coast

Beaches up and down New South Wales’ coast have been battered by strong swells today… with three people dying in the surf – two fishermen, and a man swept off rocks.

In the Hunter, multiple rescues have been carried out – with one man, thankfully, winched to safety at Nobbys breakwall.
