A 24-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital, after a car slammed into a tree off Solitary Islands Way at Mullaway, just after 10 last night.
Two men were in the vehicle – both managed to escape the mangled wreck before it burst into flames.
“Upon arrival at the scene ambulance and police were confronted with a car that was alight, and two occupants had suffered injuries as a result of the collision.” Insp Brendan Gorman.
The 24-year-old is in a critical condition in Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital, while a 33-year-old is in a stable condition in Coffs Harbour.
