The Environment Protection Authority has launched legal action against a Rutherford waste oil refinery.
Truegain is accused of providing false information to the EPA, regarding air monitoring for dioxins during 2012-13.
The company faces fines of up to $1-million, if found guilty in the Land and Environment Court.
The matter is due before the court next month.
