Lake Macquarie sailor Chris Nicholson is about to make his long-awaited return to the Volvo Ocean Race.
Six months after his boat, Team Vestas Wind, ran aground off Mauritius, the yacht has been rebuilt in Italy.
Last Friday, it began a six-day journey from the foot of the Alps to the Portugese capital of Lisbon, travelling by boat and truck.
Nicholson and his team will now prepare to rejoin the race on June 4.
