Prosecutors have lost their bid to keep a sexual predator behind bars for longer.
Brett David Hill was jailed for a minimum of 17 years for kidnapping and raping a girl in Newcastle in 2018.
Today the Court of Criminal Appeal in Sydney dismissed an appeal for a longer sentence.
