A man’s facing court today, charged with sexually abusing a five-year-old girl while staying with her family in Port Stephens.
Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad began investigating after receiving reports at the end of June that a child was sexually abused by a man who was known to her.
Investigators, assisted by Brisbane Water police officers, arrested a 44-year-old man at a Narara home at around 7.45am on Sunday July 7.
He was taken to Gosford Police Station and charged with two counts of intentionally sexually touching a child under 10 years.
He’s been granted strict conditional bail and will face Raymond Terrace Local Court today.
