UNIVERSITY CARJACKER SENTENCED TO MINIMUM 12-MONTHS JAIL

A man, who was high on ice when he carjacked a driver at the University of Newcastle last year, will remain behind bars until at least April

Isaac Benjamin Jones used a fake pistol to threaten the 19-year-old in March, stealing his Mazda 3 and later torching it.

28-year-old Jones faced Newcastle Local Court on Friday, where he was sentenced to a minimum 12-months jail.

He’ll be eligible for parole on April 17.
