The state’s Electoral Commission has recommended Gunnedah remains in the Tamworth electorate, despite a push to see it moved to Parkes.
The recommendation has been welcomed by Gunnedah Shire Council.
The panel has also proposed the transfer of Walcha LGA from Tamworth to the Northern Tablelands.
But, Tamworth could still have its hands full, with a potential move north on the cards for the Liverpool Plains.
