MARK HAINES’ FAMILY CALL FOR REWARD

The family of Tamworth teenager Mark Haines is calling on the state government to offer a reward to help solve his unexplained death.

The 17-year-old’s body was found on train tracks just south of Tamworth in January 1988.

For the past 29 years his family has maintained he was murdered.

“The New South Wales government needs to put up a very substantial reward, so that hopefully that final piece of the puzzle can come to the police.”

The state crime command’s homicide squad is currently conducting a review of the case.

Earlier this month Mark’s family posted its own $20,000- reward for information.

“It’s a disgrace that members of my family have to post a reward into finding out what has happened to our boy.”
