The Central Coast’s Brad Woodward has made it into the semis in the 100 backstroke in Fukuoka.
In the heats, he turned in eighth after the first 50, but stormed home to finish fifth, in a new personal best time.
He’ll be back in action tonight, aiming to qualify for his first World Championships Final.
