DISQUALIFIED LEARNER LEADS COPS ON HIGH-SPEED PURSUIT
A disqualified learner driver has been charged after leading police on a pursuit in Newcastle this morning.
The pursuit commenced near Minmi around 6:30am when a 37-year-old Raymond Terrace man, driving an unregistered vehicle, allegedly failed to stop for police.
Police say the man reached speeds of up to 150km/h along the M1, before it came to an end at an Edgeworth business park ten minutes later.
A passenger was in the vehicle at the time.
The man has since been charged with five offences, including reckless and dangerous driving.
He’ll appear at Toronto Court next month.
