CHARGES LAID OVER ASSAULT AT LISMORE BASE HOSPITAL

Charges have been laid against a 24-year-old man, who allegedly assaulted police and security at Lismore Base Hospital last month.

It’s alleged the Grafton man grabbed a security guard by the shoulders and pushed him to the ground, after getting into an argument over a cigarette on June 24.

The Grafton man, who was a patient at the time, then allegedly punched a window, breaking the glass.

He was later spotted on Uralba Street, where a police officer was assaulted.

The 24-year-old was eventually arrested, and will face Lismore Local Court next month.
