POLICE HUNTING MAN AFTER FATAL STABBING IN HUNTER VALLEY

Police in the Hunter Valley are searching for a 41-year-old man, after a fatal stabbing in the town of Cessnock early on Friday morning.
21-year-old Riley Dehn was stabbed in the chest and forearm and attempted to make his way to Cessnock police station where he collapsed.
Paramedics tried to revive him but he died at the scene.
Police say there had been an argument between two groups of people at a hotel earlier in the night.
When one group, including the 21-year-old, left the hotel, there was a series of altercations on Wollombi Road.
An 18-year-old male was allegedly struck in the head with a bottle by a 27-year-old woman who is assisting police.
A large crime scene has been established with traffic being diverted around the area. All shops in the vicinity of the crime scene have been closed.
