TEEN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGEDLY BREAKING INTO ELDERLY MAN’S HOUSE

A teenager has been charged with a number of offences, following an aggravated break and enter in the state’s north west.

It’s alleged the 17-year-old boy entered a house on Blache Peadon Drive at Narrabri on Monday afternoon, and produced a knife when confronted by a neighbour.

The owner of the house, a 71-year-old man, was asleep inside and wasn’t injured.

Officers from Oxley Police District arrested the boy a short time later.

He was charged with a number of offences, including aggravated break and enter and committing a serious indictable offence while armed.

He was refused bail and will front court later next month.
