A disappointing result for Port Macquarie cyclist Lauren Kitchen, who placed fifth in the National Elite Women’s Road Race in Victoria this morning.
Kitchen spent most of the 102-kilometre event in the peloton, before breaking away in the final stages and finishing two seconds behind the winner.
Last Wednesday, the 25-year-old claimed bronze in the national criterium for the third year running.
