THREE CHARGED IN LAKE MACQUARIE PURSUIT

A woman involved in an alleged police pursuit at Lake Macquarie is due to face Newcastle Local Court today.

Just after 11am yesterday, officers noticed a blue Ford Territory, suspected to be stolen, travelling south on the Pacific Highway at Belmont.

The 23 year old driver stopped for police on Maude Street before speeding away.

A pursuit was started, but later stopped by police.

Soon after, the driver and two other people were found walking south along the Pacific Highway.

All three were arrested and taken to Belmont Police Station.

The 23 year old woman was charged with several offences inclusing reckless driving, possessing a prescribed restricted substance and suspected stolen goods.

A 31 year old female passenger faced Belmont Local Court yesterday, while a 30 year old male passenger will face the same court later this month.
