FIRE DANGER INCREASES DURING END OF YEAR HEATWAVE

Temperatures are expected to soar beyond 40 degrees in the Hunter this afternoon, as heatwave conditions intensify.

The fire danger rating is ‘Very High’ for the region, as well as for the Central Coast, North West, Mid North Coast and North coast, and fire permits remain suspended.

The RFS organised community meetings at Broke and Bulga today, to help prepare residents and their properties for the conditions.

People in these areas are urged to have a bushfire survival plan ready, and monitor changing conditions closely on the RFS website.
