Animal rights activists were hoping to ruffle a few feathers today, protesting outside Maitland MP Jenny Aitchison’s office, over Labor’s back flip on a bill to phase-out the caged egg industry.
“What we’re pressing for if for Labor to step-up to not sort of back down to industry lobby groups, cashed-up lobby groups.”
Ms Aitchison says a nationwide approach is needed, with 45 per cent of people still eating caged eggs.
