A decision to step into the professional ring has paid off for Armidale boxing trainer Robbie Porter.
His debut fight against Sydney’s Jessie Saavedra lasting just over one-minute and 20 seconds – with Porter winning by T-K-O in the super-middle weight bout.
Porter has been running a boxing gym in Armidale for the past four years – but only decided to take his passion further when his father-in-law was diagnosed with bone cancer.
